Volunteer Reward Program

How to Participate

1. Respond to “Call for Volunteers”

2. Receive confirmation from MMB Board with details & instructions

3. Volunteer

4. Receive “Thank You” e-mail within 3 days of event detailing how many points were rewarded and how many points you have accrued

5. Save or Spend Points

6. Rinse & Repeat

About the Program

The Minneapolis Movie Bears would be nothing with out our Members and volunteers! This program has been created to encourage and recognize MMB volunteers by rewarding participation in our events and in other events within the community. It is YOU that allows us to be the best Non-Profit we can be!

We understand that being a volunteer takes time and energy and we find it important to make sure you know how much we appreciate your service. One of the best ways we can do this is to offer a plan that allows you to attend events for free or at a discounted rate.

MMB Members will receive points each time they volunteer for a MMB event or MMB sanctioned event. Point Values will be determined prior to an event and will be categorized into different volunteer levels. After members have accumulated enough points, they may be traded in for rewards.

Call for Volunteers

Want to get started earning points? Here are our current volunteer opportunities:

1) Pride Parade Float
Once again, it's that time of year. There has already been 1 meeting, but it's not too late to jump onto the band wagon of fun! We are looking for people to brainstorm & build the 2010 MMB Pride Float. What is a float without walkers! We need people who want to walk/ride in the parade as well!

Number of People: Unlimited
Event Type: BRONZE 5pts (Walkers, Planning Meetings) SILVER 10pts (Building Float, joining committee)

2) MMB 2nd Annual Garage Sale May 20th-22nd
We are looking for people to help sell the items during the sale. Any help is a great help, so shift lengths/times are dependent on your schedule.

Number of People: 3-4
Event Type: BRONZE 5pts

3) Twin City Bear Pride June 11th-12th
We are looking for volunteers to help throughout the weekend. Jobs would include: Selling wrist bands Fri/Sat, Getting people as they arrive for Bear Nation film etc.

4) Bingham Cup June 17-20
Our friend over at the Mayhem need our help! They are hosting the fantastic Bingham Cup and need the community to help make this event fantastic. Please follow this LINK for a personal letter asking for help. Please contact volunteers@binghamcup.com. Let them know you are with the Minneapolis Movie Bears and I will get your volunteer information from them directly.

Event Type: BRONZE 5pts (1-2 hours of Volunteering) SILVER 10pts (3 hours)

5) MMB Summer Drive In 7/3/2010-9/4/2010
We are looking for 1 member to plan and lead our yearly Drive In Adventure. Current Drive-In Dates are scheduled for 7/3/2010, 8/7/2010, 9/4/2010).

Job duties would include the planning and implementation of movie night (ie: writing communication/advertisement, posting of forum, facebook etc).

Number of People: 1
Event Type: Multi (Total points would be 55)
